Belal Muhammad is not impressed with Joe Rogan‘s praise of Leon Edwards on a recent episode of his podcast. Muhammad, of course, is set to face welterweight champ Leon Edwards for the latter’s 170-pound title on the top of UFC 304 next month after almost a year of waiting.

And Rogan, who is a great admirer (and friend) of ‘Rocky’, commended the Englishman for being “the most technical, the most dangerous” fighter, remarking that he loved to see him in action. In addition, the podcast host appreciated the technical aspects of Edwards’ game, including “the way he moves” to his “technique” and “precision”

This praise for his upcoming opponent apparently stuck in the Palestinian’s craw, who predicted that the UFC commentator would be singing a different tune after he, Muhammad, was done with Edwards at their UFC 304 main event bout in Manchester on July 28. “July 28 Joe Rogan on Leon Edwards. Man he belal made him look like he sucks,” Belal wrote in a quote tweet about Rogan’s praise for Edwards.

However, UFC  304 will not be the first time Edwards and Muhammad will meet in the octagon. The duo had first fought at the top of a Fight Night card back in 2021, but the fight was ruled a no-contest in the second round. The reason for this was that Edwards had eye-poked Muhammad (for the second time in the bout), which led to the doctor intervening and ruling that the Palestinian was unable to continue fighting. And fans have been waiting for a rematch between them ever since.

And while Muhammad has vowed a “rude awakening” for Edwards in Manchester next month, the champ is unlikely to respond with any trash talk. This is because of ‘Rocky’s tranquil, almost zen personality. And a story Rogan told recently on his podcast is perhaps the best illustration of Rocky’s placid temperament.

Rogan prevented ‘Rocky’ from getting into a fight

Joe Rogan recently recalled Leon Edwards nearly getting into a fight when out partying with him. ‘Rocky’, of course, is one of the most laidback and soft-spoken fighters in the Dana White-led promotion. Rogan recalled being out partying with Edwards after the champ did his podcast along with comedian Dave Chapelle.

Apparently, they were hanging out in a club and it was getting late. This prompted a bouncer in the club to approach them and single out Edwards for no apparent reason, getting in the fighter’s face and telling him somewhat rudely that it was time to leave. Before things could escalate further, however, Rogan wisely intervened. He got in between the champ and the bouncer, and warned him, saying: “I know you have probably made some f***ing up mistakes in your life, you’re about to make the biggest one.'”

Rogan then pulled the bouncer aside and briefed him on who Edwards was, which, according to Rogan made him go white and simply remark “Oh no.” This de-escalated the potential conflict and the situation was resolved amicably. Notably, not many fighters would take the kind of disrespect Edwards received nor let go of someone getting in their face like the bouncer did, especially when they had been drinking. But Edwards is a remarkably chilled-out person and not the violent sort. Except, of course, when he is in the octagon. And after his trash talk, Muhammad has certainly given him a lot to be violent about at their UFC 304 clash.

What are your thoughts on Belal Muhammad’s prediction?
