Islam Makhachev‘s win over Alexander Volkanovski created a stir in the MMA world. It split the fans, as some are happy with the result, while there are some that are bashing the judges. The split decision win for Makhachev was also not accepted by UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

After reacting to the split decision by the judges immediately after the fight, the controversial commentator has spoken again regarding the issue. The 55-year-old explained what he thought of the fight and the problems he thinks with the judges scoring. Furthermore, he faces a backlash from a set of MMA and UFC fans, as his words do not resonate with them.

Joe Rogan double-downs on his opinion on UFC 284 fight

The UFC commentator has shared his opinion on the controversial decision of the UFC lightweight championship fight. The podcast host said on one of his latest podcasts, “I give a slight edge of the second round to Volkanovski. but that is the decider of the fight. I watched it three times…”

Furthermore, the controversial commentator said, “I have gone over the fight… the real problem is the scoring system. It’s not adequate because if you have a 10-9 round like the final round when Volkanovski clearly won. And then you have a 10-9 round with the second round. How did they both win that round? This doesn’t make any sense. One of them is clearly a lot more dominating in one way”

Clearly, Rogan believes that the fight should have gone in Alexander Volkanovski‘s favor instead of Islam Makhachev‘s. However, there are certain sections of the fans that do not agree.

Fans bash Joe Rogan for his take on the fight

The fans have backlashed at the UFC commentator for his remarks.

One fan clearly stated, “Islam clearly won joe”.

 Another fan added, “love joe but why he act like vol did not get outstriked and didnt lose the first 4 minutes of round 5”.

However, one fan commented, “Volk should’ve won”

But there were Islam Makhachev‘s fans present in that comment section, “Khabib 2.0 won that fair”

Another social media user said, “I am so glad someone like Rogan who is super biased isn’t a judge. This man screams and makes the smallest thing a big deal.”

Moreover, a fan said, “Islam won. Clearly.” 

While one added, “I think Joe is crazy, I give Islam 4-1”.
