Joe Rogan is a man of many talents. Apart from being a core member of the UFC, the color commentator is known for his popular podcast, The JRE. Well, that’s not all. Beyond his comedic talent, Rogan is also an accomplished martial artist with his name etched in history. What if we told you that the BJJ black belt was once on the road to fight Blade sensation Wesley Snipes? Shocked? Well, it’s true—and in his recent confession, Rogan might have just gone ballistic on the Hollywood actor but in the end, what does the podcaster think about the actor?

While having a conversation about his fight preparation for Wesley Snipes back in the day, Joe Rogan emphasized that he trained way too hard for it and he even trained alongside big shots. However, the fight never materialized due to irregular discussion from Snipes, “We were in negotiations, and the first negotiation was 50/50—we were going to split it 50/50, this and that, blah blah blah. I said, “Okay, great.” Then a couple of weeks went by. I had lawyers involved—the whole thing—and then it was like Wesley wanted 60/40,” said Joe Rogan on ‘JRE #2280 – Peter Berg.’

Joe Rogan was hooked on the fight as he appointed lawyers to look after the formalities. However, as soon as Snipes demanded the 60/40 contract, the podcaster was initially skeptical about the fight but agreed to participate. He requested the promoters to pay him $500,000 and give the remaining amount to the actor but despite his best efforts, the fight never happened. Intrigued by the story, Berg asked whether the podcaster remains in animosity, to which Rogan asserted, “I have no animosity.”

A surprised Berg then asked whether he held even the slightest sourness towards the actor, but the the color commentator denied it. Instead, he said that he believed that Snipes did the right thing by not taking the bait, with a single word: “No.” Then, he went on to clarify: “I think he did a smart thing. I think he did a smart thing by not doing it.”

The fight could have been a historic one. However, Wesley Snipes made the sensible decision of not clashing with Joe Rogan, as the podcaster is far more seasoned. But as fans, we can’t help but wonder: how would their fight have played out? Let’s game that out.

Joe Rogan promised to crush Wesley Snipes

Joe Rogan is a seasoned martial artist, holding belts in both Taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Additionally, the podcaster is known for his devastating kick, which is powerful enough to take down any opponent. Well, Snipes is also well-versed in the way of martial arts as well. The actor has a 5th-degree black belt in Shotokan karate and a 2nd-degree black belt in Hapkido. However, despite that Rogan believed that he had what it takes to defeat the Blade Sensation.

In a conversation on his podcast, Rogan outlined his vision of how the match would’ve gone, saying, “He’s never wrestled; he never had a competitive martial arts match, whether it’s a kickboxing fight or karate fight. I was like, ‘I’m gonna choke the f— out of this guy. I’m gonna get a hold of him, and I’m gonna squeeze the s— out of him, and they’re gonna give me a lot of money, and he’s probably not even gonna get hurt.’ That’s what I thought.”
