Joe Rogan is known in the combat world as an MMA enthusiast and practitioner, which led him to take up a role at the UFC as a color commentator.

However, one question that has always troubled his fans and UFC fans in general, is why didn’t the able mixed martial artist ever fight? As a professional or even as an amateur. Does he have any fears or reservations that have kept him away from entering the fight game in full capacity? Well, a guest at his super-hit podcast decided to bring up the elephant in the room and Rogan couldn’t help but answer.

On episode 1825 of The Joe Rogan Experience, guest and comedian Ali Siddiq broached Rogan about his disinterest in fighting after having a lengthy discussion on Floyd Mayweather‘s latest exhibition fight against Don Moore. Siddiq asked Rogan if he would ever fight? To that, the 54-year-old Rogan replied, “No, I am too banged up. I am too old. I am not interested anymore.”

But when Siddiq reminded Rogan of his physique and mastery in MMA, particularly Rogan’s “muscle memory,” the UFC commentator did accept that he could do some damage, however, he is just not interested in fighting. “Yeah, I mean, probably, I could f*ck some people up. I am not interested.”

Although we didn’t get a positive answer from Rogan regarding a Floyd Mayweather-esque exhibition fight, are we sure that Rogan can hold his own if he is presented a scenario where there is no escape?

Can Joe Rogan fight professionals?

We have heard Joe Rogan’s iconic commentary from the cage side and his expert reviews of professional fighter and their techniques on his podcast. But, when it comes to fighting for real, can Rogan do any damage?

Yes, he can. The 54-year-old UFC commentator is no joke when it comes to fighting. In his younger days, Rogan knocked fighters out cold with professional techniques. And even now , at 54-years of age, he can knock out fighters in the same way.

Rogan holds a black belt under Eddie Bravo’s 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu, as well as a gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Jean Jacques Machado. So, it is safe to say that Rogan will be able to hold his own if he comes face-to-face with a professional. However, his age will play a factor, obviously.
