Meghan Markle’s ‘Archetype’ podcast has claimed the no. 1 spot on Spotify’s podcast charts, beating the long-reigning, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’.

The podcast has attained the no.1 spot in 6 markets worldwide, including the US and the UK. Before this feat was with Joe Rogan’s JRE.

The podcast was the most-listened-to podcast on Spotify and gained the no.1 Spot in The United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Archetype vs The JRE Podcast

The inaugural episode saw Markle host Serena Williams on the Podcast. The 23 grand slam winner, spoke about the several things women face and how they are perceived for being ambitious.

Singer, Mariah Carey will be the guest on the upcoming episode of the podcast.

Markle has always been very vocal about her opinion on woman empowerment and, through the podcast, she attempts to promote this narrative. 

The JRE, on the other hand, does not have a specific genre for its Podcast and guests. Everything under the sun is discussed on the UFC commentator’s show.

Prominent figures from different fields appear on the podcast. MMA fighters, Hollywood celebrities, comedians, musicians, psychologists, philosophists, scientists, and the list goes on, and on.

Rogan’s podcast has often faced a lot of controversies. The show constantly manages to find itself in the headlines. Meghan Markle has also actively voiced her thoughts against Joe Rogan’s podcast for spilling misinformation related to Covid-19. She also wanted to get the comedian’s podcast canceled.

Previously when JRE Lost the No.1 Spot

This is not the first time JRE has lost its no.1 spot. ‘Batman Unburied’, another famous podcast took over the primary position from Joe Rogan in May 2022. In September 2021, Sapnap and Karl Jacobs reached the top spot with their podcast “Banter With Sapnap and Karl Jacobs.”

JRE might not be no.1 as of now, however, it’s still the biggest podcast on the platform. Spotify bought the exclusive broadcasting rights of the podcast for almost $200 million.
