Nate Diaz is currently on the final fight of his current UFC contract. Many speculate that the Stockton native will be leaving the promotion after this final bout and won’t be re-signing with the UFC in the future.

Diaz has been a fan favorite at the promotion ever since his early days and he is carrying the ‘Diaz brothers’ legacy on his back. In an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan and legendary fighter BJ Penn discussed the state of his current contract. They both agreed on one condition on which Diaz will stay with the UFC.

Rogan said, “I think if they give him the right money, I think he’ll stay. I think he’ll stay if he wants to keep fighting. It’s whether or not he wants to keep fighting.”

Even though the UFC is the most profitable MMA promotion, many other MMA promotions pay fighters much more than what they are offered at the UFC. BJ Penn revealed that he got better pay at the K-1 MMA promotion. But then returned back to the UFC soon after he left for K-1.

If the BMF challenger agrees to stay with UFC, it is very likely for fans to witness a trilogy bout between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.

Nate Diaz says he is not interested in fighting Conor McGregor

Even though Diaz is one of the best welterweights in the promotion, his current form on paper is not impressive. He lost his last two bouts to Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal.

Diaz hasn’t fought since last year. According to a tweet he put out, Diaz said that he’s been trying to get a fight soon. In the tweet, Diaz also claimed he’s not interested in fighting McGregor.

On the other hand, McGregor wants to fight the current champion, Kamaru Usman, and talks of his taking down McGregor have reduced after this.
