On his podcast, UFC commentator Joe Rogan often shares his opinions about various matters. Spotify’s biggest podcast host & a longtime UFC commentator, Rogan has also tried his hands in stand-up comedy and has featured in TV shows and movies. Rogan did all this growing up without a father.

With all the fame Rogan has achieved, he has still kept his own life in his close circle. In an interview, Rogan talked about how the upbringing of a person affects them.

“When you grow up with violence, you’re programmed to respond and react quickly, develop this hair-trigger reaction to things. Overreact, [and] make mistakes they can’t rebound from, and a lot of it is because of the actual programming that occurs when they’re in the womb,” Rogan said. “Even when their mother is experiencing violence from the father, it literally changes their genes in the womb.”

Important to note that Rogan had a relatively tough childhood. Before his biological father moved away, Rogan offered he didn’t have the best of memories with him.

However, Joe Rogan’s mother was always by her side as they moved around the United States. They lived in Newark, San Francisco, and Gainesville, and they eventually landed in Boston, Massachusetts.

Rogan now lives in a female-dominated house. His wife and daughters surround him, and he often turns to them for support and advice.

Joe Rogan talks about his childhood

In his conversation with Erik Griffin, the standup comedian talked about his upbringing and how it made him great at parenting. Because of the lack of attention he received in his childhood, Rogan believes he enjoys his kids’ company.

Rogan’s last memory of his biological father was from when he was six. The UFC color commentator also mentioned that his mother and stepfather were busy working, hence, he had a lot of time for himself in his childhood.

“My mom worked; My stepdad was a really good guy, but no one was ever around… And when they were done working, everybody was tired… I was a latchkey kid… When I was 7-year-old… I would go out and do a magic show on fisher’s Wharf by myself; Just wander around the city; They would open the door and you just leave,” said Rogan.
