Joe Rogan, the versatile entertainer, known for comedy, podcasting, and UFC commentary, bid farewell to California to move to the ‘Lone Star’ state of Texas! His move was prompted by reasons like overpopulation, traffic, and a desire for more freedom. In an episode of the JRE (Joe Rogan Experience) podcast, he stated that the plans to relocate to a central location would also make traveling easier for him.

However, in a recent clip from the JRE, Rogan appears to have another state in mind in case Texas “falls”. The podcast host claimed that if he had to move somewhere, Florida would be his prime option due to it being “next level crazy”! Let’s take a look at the reasons behind Rogan’s fascination with Florida and why he thinks it’s a good place to move to.

Joe Rogan’s move to Texas came on the heels of his massive Spotify deal that guaranteed him an estimated $200 million, to host his podcast on the platform exclusively. As such, his move to Texas aligned with his goals of hunting and spending more time in nature. The notably lower tax rate in Texas compared to California has also been speculated as being the reason behind this transition for the podcaster.

However, in the latest JRE episode no. 2075 with comedians Ari Shaffir, Shane Gillis, and Mark Normand, Rogan revealed that if he ever wanted to leave Texas, Florida is his choice of residence. And the reasons he provided to support his move, solidify why Rogan’s audience finds him hilarious! Rogan amusingly described Florida as “it’s the craziest place… its next level crazy.” He went on to state that if Texas “falls”, he would have to move there instead.

He stated, “The move is to live in the Everglades if you can. That’s the move, if there’s a way to live as close to the Everglades as is legally possible, that’s where you should live. You should live on top of the literal serpents and dinosaurs that occupy the center of the d*ck of the country.”

When offered as an alternative location, Rogan was quick to dismiss the state of Montana due to its extreme cold. But he instead claimed, “If you want to have fun, if you really want to have fun, you got to be in mortal danger every day. This is what you do, when it all goes south, you get a place that’s surrounded by alligators and crocs and giant pythons and it’s a 114 degrees in the summer and you think you might run out of water and die”

His entertaining perspective, dismissing Montana for its cold and advocating for living in constant mortal danger amidst alligators, crocs, and pythons, adds a humorous touch to his relocation considerations! And in light of Rogan’s endorsement of Florida, let’s take a brief look at the ‘Everglades’ and why are they so famous!

The Everglades are a World Heritage Site in Florida

The Florida Everglades, situated in the southern part of the state, is a subtropical marshland. Altered by agricultural development, it constitutes the southern half of the Kissimmee River system, originating near Orlando.

The Florida Everglades is a biologically diverse ecosystem that is home to some of the most unique and deadly creatures in the country. It hosts rare and endangered species like the American crocodile, Florida panther, and West Indian manatee. Along with a large number of alligators and large serpents, as mentioned by Rogan in his comments above! With over 1,000 plant species, many exclusive to the region, the Everglades’ ecological significance is also immense.

However, around half of the original area has now succumbed to agriculture, prompting protection measures. The remaining Everglades are safeguarded through Everglades National Park and hold international designations like an International Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site.
