Gilbert Gottfried, the veteran comedian and the legend in the comic scene, died at the age of 67. Joe Rogan, a big fan of the fellow stand-up comedian, paid tribute and shared a picture with him from the Joe Rogan Experience podcast with a heart whelming message.

Rogan had Gottfried on his podcast last November, where the two talked for about three hours. The start of the podcast revealed that the two had never met before the podcast. During the whole podcast, the two had a great conversation as they talked and laughed about things happening around the people and the world.
Rogan shared on his Instagram, “Gilbert was a brilliant comedian, and a pleasure to be around. I feel very fortunate to have been able to spend time with him.”

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness,” shared the Gottfried family.

During Rogan and Gottfried’s conversation, Rogan asked about the SNL experience, “Did you enjoy, like the process at all?”

Gottfried answered, “Not really. I was nothing new, I was always weird.” After talking about the audition experience for SNL, Gottfried told the story of how a fan letter informed him of his firing from SNL. However, both of them laughed about it as Rogan, after wondering how the fan got to know about it, said, “Maybe she saw it coming.”

Subsequently, Rogan added things he heard about SNL: “It’s like a dog-eat-dog world over there and people would be backstabbing people and stealing their ideas for sketches.”
