Donald Trump Jr. recently made a specific request to Elon Musk, urging the Tesla CEO to purchase CNBC and MSNBC after parent company Comcast put MSNBC up for sale, all while CNBC is expected to make major layoffs. Calling it his funniest idea ever, he tweeted an article revealing Comcast’s plan with the caption, “Hey @elonmusk I have the funniest idea ever!!!” This led the X owner to reply with, “How much does it cost?” But while it is unsure how serious Musk was about this plan, he did post an update tweet about his bid to  buy it, saying “especially if ironic, is most likely.” Now this had led Joe Rogan to come up with his special request.

The UFC commentator has never been a big fan of either channel. So when he saw his friends Elon Musk and Donald Trump Jr. making fun of the network’s situation, he too joined in by dragging Rachael Maddow into the mix. Replying to Elon Musk’s recent post about the companies on sale, Rogan asked Musk to give him MSNBC’s Rachael Maddow’s job with the same outfit and task. He wrote, “If you buy MSNBC, I would like Rachael Maddow’s job. I will wear the same outfit and glasses, and I will tell the same lies.”

The Rachel Maddow Show, which has been the top show for MSNBC, has been experiencing a major decline of 1 million viewers, with the 25 to 54 key demographic taking the biggest hit. So it wouldn’t be a surprise if Joe Rogan actually gets to replace the famous host. On the contrary, Elon Musk is richer than ever. The value of his fortune has surpassed the bar he set in November 2021, according to calculations by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Tesla’s rise in the stock market and the increase in value of its intelligence firm, xAI, have raised its value to a record $347.8 billion. The net worth of Musk’s fortune has soared by about $90 billion since Republican Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election.

MSNBC had been doing great for a while, with the network’s top show raking brilliant figures despite airing once a week. So what is the root cause of the downfall? The UFC commentator and podcaster seems to have an answer.

Joe Rogan reveals the reason behind Comcast’s channels failing

Donald Trump’s surprising victory over Democrat Kamala Harris defied practically every exit poll by prominent news networks, including CNN and MSNBC. Now it seems like the two titans are bearing the brunt of the 2024 election results. Rogan has often been one of the biggest critics of the two networks, often calling them out for spreading misinformation. So when he heard about their downfall, he couldn’t help but share his views on it.

On JRE #2231, the UFC commentator revealed that the reason these networks are failing is that nobody believes them anymore. “They’re both on the cutting block. CNN is talking about mass layoffs of talent because nobody believes them anymore.” The JRE host further added, “That’s unacceptable if you’re the voice of the news in the world. It’s unacceptable for a large percentage of what you’re saying to be completely full of s–t.”

With Comcast willing to make massive restructuring, it seems like the end for at least one of the two channels. However, it will be interesting to see if Elon Musk buys one of these networks. What do you think? Will the billionaire make the purchase? And if he does, will we get to see Joe Rogan on the platform? Let us know in the comments.
