Joe Rogan is one of the most famous podcasters in the world. He uses his thoughtful and engaging podcasts to give his opinion on several issues. Recently on his podcast, Rogan gave his thoughts on what he felt would happen if UFC heavyweight champion Francis ‘The Predator’ Ngannou faced off against boxing legend Tyson Fury.

JRE #1814 featured Rogan alongside Radio Rahim as the two discussed different topics. In one of the segments, the two discussed what would happen if MMA fighters stepped into a boxing ring against legit boxers. Rogan said, ” I want to see Tyson Fury pitch a shutout. I want to see him lighten em up… I want the world to see what it’s like when the best motherf**ker on earth at his given thing gets to express himself with someone who’s trying it out.”

Rahim said that it would only lead to “full-blown destruction,” to which Rogan replied, ” Unless they allow clinching.” He then explained what dirty boxing is and how the rule set in MMA allows it. He later reveals that he thinks, Ngannou would do well if it were a dirty-boxing fight.

Rogan said, ” If Francis Ngannou gets Tyson Fury to agree to let him hold and hit… If you could tie the… get him in a collar tie when you’re holding the back of his neck and you’re smashing him in the face, that’s legal in MMA, that happens all the time.”

Francis Ngannou’s Uncertain Future

The heavyweight champion now has 14 fights in the UFC, with a professional record of 17-3-0. He is a man to watch out for as he is on a six-fight win streak.

Even with this historic rise, his future inside the octagon is still unsure. He has previously stated that he is done fighting for less money and is interested in professional boxing, which he wants to pursue alongside MMA. His UFC deal would have expired this year, but because of the ‘champion’s clause’ in his contract, Ngannou will remain in the organization until 2023.
