Regardless, it seems he might just have found himself a new opponent in Alex Pereira. After his emphatic UFC 305 victory, the Brazilian reacted to the win with a unique caption on Instagram ‘Coming down to 185’. 56-year-old Joe Rogan reacted to the message in his JRE Fight Companion podcast in his own unique way. The lightweight champion during his time in the middleweight division dominated most with his power. But what happens if he returns to the division again? Rogan, during his podcast, seemed terrified with the idea and said, “Oh my god he is going to comedown to 185 one more time. Guess he can make 185 still which is just nuts. When he was making 185 going up to 220 the night of the fight. That’s so crazy. If he decides to make 185 again and they decide to do it in December.” 

Before his move to the light heavyweight division, Pereira dominated the 185-pound division. His rivalry with Adesanya is etched in the memories of most fans out there. However, after losing the title to ‘Izzy’, Pereira decided to make a move to a new division. The Brazilian currently is a two-division champion but it seems Du Plessis has caught his attention. Despite finding it tough to make weight in the 185-pound division, ‘Poatan’ seems to be eager to test himself against the South African.

Du Plessis seems to enjoy the callout from the light heavyweight champion. During his UFC 305 post-fight press conference he shared his opinion on the latest post. While many seem to fear the Brazilian and his power, Du Plessis seems desperate to test himself against the best.

When Dricus Du Plessis entered the Octagon in Perth, Australia many felt he was the second favorite. Such is the aura of Adesanya that fans expect nothing but perfection from him. However, things took a completely new turn for him in the fourth round. Du Plessis who is known for his brute strength fell back to his wrestling skills and forced the former champion to tap out via a rear naked choke. ‘Stillknocks’ successfully defended his title and is now fired up for his next challenge.

During the post fight press conference Du Plessis was asked about his opinion on the Alex Pereira call out. It seems he already has his next opponent in his mind and said, “Strickland is the next fight that people want to see that. That’s the fight people want to see is the next best guy.” However, the idea of facing the light heavyweight champion is not out of the question. The 185-pound king issued a statement for the Brazilian and said, “Then it’s the fight I want. So let me handle my business ,you handle your business. You don’t have to cut the weight for some sort of excuse later. I will come up after the Strickland fight. I will come to 205 ,we will sort it out there.”
