There are few parallels in all of sports to the kind of dominance Gordon Ryan has shown in the sport of no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Perhaps Michael Jordan in basketball or Usain Bolt in sprinting come close. The grappler has won five ADCC World titles and is a two-time IBJJF No-Gi World champion.
The 28-year-old, however, is recovering from a serious case of gastroparesis that has forced him to retire. Joe Rogan and his friends on the JRE Fight Companion episode for UFC 297, discussed some potential moves for the BJJ master. Eddie Bravo had a unique idea for Ryan’s combat sports future.

Joe Rogan against idea of Gordon Ryan joining WWE
Talking about the former pro wrestlers he has had on the podcast, Joe Rogan revealed that all of them, including Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, had serious health problems stemming from the punishment their bodies took during their careers.
“All the (pro wrestling) guys that I’ve had in here, bro, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Jake ‘The Snake’ (Roberts), all those guys are broken. Their bodies are broken,” Rogan said.
Former UFC lightweight and podcaster, Brendan Schaub, chimed in with the idea that former UFC star Chael Sonnen, known for his verbosity and exceptional mic skills, would do well in the WWE. “Chael (Sonnen) could do WWE,” ‘Bapa’ suggested.
Rogan agreed that ‘The Bad Guy’ would do well in the WWE, he should join the promotion as a manager instead of a fighter so that he does not take the kind of punishment pro wrestlers are required to take. “He could, but he would be better as a manager… Chael would be an amazing manager,” Rogan replied.
BJJ trainer and flat-earth believer Eddie Bravo advocated for Sonnen to manage Gordon Ryan in the WWE. Rogan, however, disagreed and pointed out that Ryan already made millions off his BJJ training videotapes and unlikely to leave the sport as he wanted to be considered the greatest BJJ practitioner in the history of the sport.
“Gordon’s not gonna do that. Gordon’s making too much money. No he wants to makes millions strangling people for real. All Gordon wants to do is be the undisputed, undeniable greatest of all time… He’s making millions doing video tapes,” Rogan said as they geared up to watch Strickland take on Du Plessis.

I wonder how the people online feel about that. Cuz you know we arent scoring it while we’re watching it. We watching it and having fun. Were we wrong?” Rogan asked.
