The UFC commentator, Joe Rogan, having a knack for bringing in diverse personalities on his show ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, pulled out a surprise guest for his latest episode. Forget MMA fighters and politicians – this time he landed a real legend. Freeway Rick Ross, a name forever linked to L.A’s past drug scene, took the hot seat. Leaving that wild past behind, Rick Ross is a changed man. Now a successful author, he joined Rogan for a conversation and things got interesting. Ross dropped a bombshell, revealing that at his peak he was raking in a cool million dollars a day. Even the unflappable Joe Roagn seemed speechless by some of these confessions.

Freeway Rick Ross, once sentenced to life in prison, beat the odds. His appeal was successful, and he was released in 2009. However, the shadow of his past still lingers. In episode #2163 of ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, Rogan, known for his unfiltered approach, couldn’t resist asking Ross about his daily earnings during his drug dealing days.

Rogan requested Rick Ross to break it down for the audience. “Let’s tell people the scale let’s talk about the money the numbers that you were moving. It was crazy,” the host mentioned. Ross was quick to offer an answer, as he claimed, “At my peak, from ’84 to ’86, I was doing at least a million dollars every day. Then, I had days where I did as much as $3 million, such as the first of the month, which was my busiest day.

This revelation seemed to catch Joe Rogan off guard, as he couldn’t help but blurt out a shocked “Jesus!” in response. Ross further went on to reveal that his most successful daily earnings were consistently in the range of $2.5 million to $3 million. Later in the podcast, the conversation shifted to a more contentious topic: rapper Rick Ross’s use of the name “Freeway Rick Ross.” The original Rick Ross, not too pleased, didn’t hold back his criticism, calling it a tactic to gain fame.

It’s a common tactic to borrow names without permission. That’s exactly what happened to Freeway Rick Ross. While he was serving time, rapper William Leonard Roberts II adopted the stage name, Rick Ross. Freeway wasn’t happy about it, and according to him, whenever they’re in the same place, Rick Ross and his whole crew mysteriously disappear.

Moreover, Freeway Rick Ross wasn’t shy about criticizing his namesake, the rapper Rick Ross. When Rogan asked why the rapper wouldn’t change his name after Freeway was released, he had a scathing reply: “When he got some money, they all forget about it. You got gangsters doing records with him…people who say they hate snitches doing records with the police officer.” Joe Rogan seemed to side with the author in the fiasco as he added, “If there was a rapper out there named Joe Rogan, I’d go ‘What the f**k?'”

Notably, Freeway had confronted the rapper for using his name without permission, but he didn’t receive any satisfactory response. “How would you take my name and not have the decency to ask me? First of all, you should’ve asked, but then never pay homage? He won’t even admit that he stole the name. He tells people that he invented the name. Like, how the f**k do you invent the name?” added the 64-year-old.
