“Joe Rogan Thinks He [Alexander Volkanovski] Won the Fight”: Steve-O Reveals Dana White’s Raw Emotions Immediately After Islam Makhachev’s Last UFC Fight

UFC 284 saw an absolute war in the cage when Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski came face to face. The two fighters gave it their all for the lightweight belt and fans were left wondering who actually deserved the win. The fight went on till the fifth round and the judges decided it in the Russian’s favor. Alexander Volkanovski, however, received support from a lot of fans and experts who thought he had done it all to be the winner of that fight. American entertainer and TV personality Steve-O have now revealed what Dana White felt about the UFC 284 fight.

In a recent interview with Alexander Volkanovski, Steve-O revealed that he was with Dana White to watch the UFC 284 main event and followed it minute by minute from the pre-fights to the end. He revealed how the UFC boss was left mighty impressed by ‘The Great’ after the fight.

Alexander Volkanovski wins Dana White’s praise

Talking to Volk Steve-O recalled how he was in Las Vegas for a gig and thought of checking if Dana White was there. The 53-year-old called Steve-O to his home, where both of them watched the fight together. It was here that Steve-O asked the Aussie about his thoughts on the fight. He also revealed what Dana White said to him about the fight once the fight ended.

Steve-O said, It was a lot of fun and we watched your fight together uh against Islam. Did he told us to come over uh about 6 p.m were you? Oh yeah, for six hours, the praise that Dana gave for your fight, you know. He says you couldn’t ask for uh, a better, a better fight, my God. And uh, Joe Rogan thinks he won the fight against Islam, um, no matter what, like that was a great thing for you.”

Alexander Volkanovski said he always knew it would be a challenge for him but did it in order to make himself better. Volk said, yeah for sure you know, it was, uh, obviously always going to be a challenge, you know; there was a reason why I was underdog. Everyone was thought I was crazy doing it. Yeah, on you, uh, you know I knew I could do it. I wanted the challenge”

A re-match may happen soon

While the fight left experts and fans divided on the results, calls for a rematch have been agreed upon by all. Volk had initially asked for a re-match and Islam Makhachev had shown his interest. Dana White, too, had indicated that the two might meet each other soon if the stars align.

There have been some great rivalries that have seen trilogy fights and even more. With two of the greatest fighters of the current times going against each other, fans can rest assured that the rematch will be a blockbuster. Following the fight, Dan Hooker‘s allegations of Islam Makhachev using IV to rehydrate have added a lot of spice to the match-up. A re-match thus will be an enticing event.
