Joe Rogan has never been one to shy away from expressing his thoughts on controversial topics. In the ongoing debate on transgender people, he has often put out his own opinions and has addressed the conflicting dialogue surrounding it.

Recently, Rogan delved into another highly sensitive and complex subject – the ongoing controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling‘s controversial statement on transgender women, and also weighed in on the idea of cancel culture.

The author of this $43.19 billion legacy received some underwhelming comments from the stars of the film franchise with Emma Watson and Rupert Grint not supporting her stance.

However, this highly sensitive and complex subject does not have any universally accepted common ground on which everyone can collectively agree. And any opinion can be seen as offensive or insensitive by some. The UFC commentator, being aware of the volatile nature of the subject, approached it with caution and put forth a question on whether a franchise as big as Harry Potter can suffer due to the millionaire author’s stance.

During episode #1978 of JRE, Joe Rogan sat down with his fellow comedian Ms. Pat and led a discussion that navigated itself to the highly sensitive topic of transgenders. Eventually, they delved into J.K. Rowling’s controversial comments on the subject. The conversation that started from Disneyland shifted to Harry Potter theme rides, which prompted Rogan to wonder how Rowling’s stance on trans women might affect her best work.

The 55-year-old said, “I wonder like, what’s it like at the Harry Potter world now. Because everybody J. K. Rowling because of her stance on trans women.”
