“I won’t be there. I don’t go to Canada anymore… I’d rather go to Russia,” Joe Rogan declared his intentions on visiting the North American nation. The multi-million dollar commentator didn’t mince words on the Joe Rogan Experience, firmly stating he has no intention of setting foot in the country again. While many in the MMA community brushed it off as another Rogan exaggeration, his concerns suddenly seemed justified, especially after Daniel Cormier’s unsettling run-in with the Canadian government. So, what happened with the former dual-weight champion?
Daniel Cormier is part of the UFC 315 broadcasting team alongside Jon Anik and Dominick Cruz. It’s obvious he’s in Canada to prepare his schedule for this weekend. However, getting into the country wasn’t that easy for ‘DC.’
While having a conversation with Chael Sonnen on Good Guy/Bad Guy, Daniel Cormier expressed his dissatisfaction with the customs department of the Canadian airport. “I’m in Canada, and I realize getting into Canada is not easy—they interrogate you. I went through about four rounds. I mean, the passport paper, you know that little machine that asks: “Do you have cash?” “Do you have $10,000?” “Some fruit and vegetables?” Canada has about 40 different things on it.”

He further added, ” Then once you’re done, I walk up to the lady to give her the paper to exit, because now I’ve gone through the first three stages of shield. And she looks at me and goes, “Well, where are you coming from?” I go, “Cal.” You would think that you don’t want to interrogate me again—it’s been three rounds of it. Let me in the country, ma’am! They finally let me in.”
According to Joe Rogan, it’s not the people who are wrong in Canada but the government. Rogan labeled it as a “full-blown communist takeover.” He further added, “It’s because of the government, and it has nothing to do with the people. I think the people are f—ing lovely. They’re some of my favorite people of all time.”

Well, unlike Rogan, Cormier has to travel frequently for his analyst job. Interestingly, Daniel Cormier and Joe Rogan are not the only ones who have had their fair share of problems with Canada.

Is Joe Rogan right about Canada, or is he just exaggerating his experiences?
Have an interesting take?
“No, man, it is a fact… Trust me…” Strickland replied when a Twitter user said no rematch with Du Plessis would prove he was robbed on purpose. “Canada absolutely hated me and threatened to pull me.” Well, not only Strickland, UFC featherweight contender Bryce Mitchell even called out the Canadian administration for strict gun control.
In addition to that, Chael Sonnen also exchanged harsh words with the Canadian government and its people in anticipation of his rivalry with Georges St-Pierre. Regardless, what are your thoughts on the tussle between Canada and UFC fighters? State your opinion in the comments below.
