The Joe Rogan Experience is undoubtedly the biggest podcast in the world, bringing to viewers and listeners some of the most interesting conversations between the host and a plethora of guests from various walks of life. However, the 57-year-old show isn’t immune to taking a strange turn sometimes. We say that because of a weird interaction between Rogan and American restaurateur Guy Fieri, as fans shared their opinions on it on social media.
Guy Fieri was pretty close to his father, who passed away in January 2024 due to cancer. The Emmy-winning television presenter recently revealed to Joe Rogan about a conversation he had with his spiritual medium, a woman named Karen. Fieri was thinking about his father, and when he spoke to the woman, she surprised him with a confession about his father’s spirit trying to contact him.
Not only that, Guy Fieri also revealed that he had a conversation with his father in Mexico about him returning as an owl after passing away. Strangely enough, his spiritual, who had no idea or knowledge about the conversation he had with his father, appeared to know everything about him, which was really something Fieri never thought was possible.

“The other day, maybe six months ago, sitting in a hot tub, I had my routine of hot sauna, cold plunge, hot tub, infrared. I do all that. But I’m sitting there, and I keep getting this thing. I’ve got to call this medium lady,” Guy Fieri told Joe Rogan on the #2323 JRE episode. “And I text her and I said, ‘Hey, can I come see you?’ And she goes, ‘Yeah’. She goes, ‘Your dad’s been hitting me up quite a bit. Your dad wants to talk to you.'”
“She knew my dad’s dead. But the point was, and there was more intricacies about it, but she said, ‘Yeah, he’s been talking about it’. She goes, ‘Were you just in Mexico?’ I say, ‘Yeah.’ [She replies], ‘Did you do something in Mexico, something about an owl?’ There’s no way in a million years she would know this… he said he was going to be as an owl,” Rogan’s guest further added.
While Joe Rogan appeared a bit confused, he had a pretty unusual response to his guest, claiming that the animal his father talked about isn’t a bright creature at all. “Okay. Owls are dumb as s–t… they’re really dumb birds,” he replied as Guy Fieri seemed a bit disheartened, believing that the JRE host was talking about his father’s story and not the animal. But Rogan would assure that he was talking about the owl, and steered the conversation in that direction, snubbing Fieri’s whole story.
“I’m not saying your dad’s dumb. I’m just saying it’s weird that we all have this idea of owls being wise. I talked to this lady who trains birds. [She says owls are the] dumbest birds,” Joe Rogan added. “It’s like the only thing dumber than them is emus. It’s like emus are dumb as s–t.”
