While having a conversation with the media, Khabib Nurmagomedov emphasized, “I know he is a good young striker. He told me in the future he wants to move to MMA when he finishes with Muay Thai. He is always welcome to Dagestan and trains at our gym. In MMA you need to train in wrestling, and he will improve that by training with us. I keep track of MMA worldwide and I’m aware of the good strikers and Muay Thai fighters you have here. But Malaysia needs more qualified coaches and a solid framework to cultivate top MMA talent.”

He has further uploaded certain videos standing alongside ‘Eagle’ on his Instagram handle. It must be noted that Johan Ghazali is one of the very few people who has been invited by the lightweight champion to train alongside them. Who are the others, you ask? Let us find out.

The number of people invited by Khabib Nurmagomedov for training

Team Khabib’s training regimen is one of the toughest in the entire UFC. Their rigorous training in Dagestan is known for its intensity. The harsh mountainous terrain and the extreme climate conditions, in addition to the harsh cold climate, help a fighter in building mental as well as physical toughness. In addition to that, cultural discipline as well as respect for hard work forces each and every fighter to get past their limit.

Looking at this, Khabib Nurmagomedov has invited several fighters to train in Dagestan. Besides his close friend and former dual weight champion, Daniel Cormier, other fighters include former middleweight champ, Luke Rockhold, lightweight contender: Arman Tsarukyan, Johan Ghazili, and many more. Interestingly, Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, once invited Conor McGregor to Dagestan after his fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
