Jamahal Hill became the light heavyweight champion at UFC 283. His attacks on Glover Teixeira left the 43-year-old bruised and battered. Glover Teixeira didn’t back down in the face of a tough opponent and kept coming back round after round. It was Teixeira’s last fight as he retired from MMA post that. But he was not the only one who came out for their last fight. Teixeira’s cornerman, John Hackleman, has now announced his retirement from cornering. In his last fight, Hackleman tried to stop the fight, but was outvoted by others in his corner.

John Hackleman owns the Pit Karate Kenpo Academy. He has been coaching Glover Teixeira for a long time. He is also known for coaching light heavyweight maestro Chuck Liddell. Hackleman accepted that he is generally keen on stopping fights when he sees a fighter taking too much damage.

Glover Teixeira: His corner retires with him

John Hackleman talked about what transpired in the fight between Jamahal Hill and Glover Teixeira. In an interaction with MMA Fghting, Hackleman said, “… I thought this was a good time to stop it. I was outvoted in the corner.”

Talking about the fight, he further added, I would have thrown it in after the third. I would have been completely happy with the fight stopping there. I saw no reason for it to go on after that.” Hackleman also announce that it might be the last time he cornered in a fight.

Glover Teixeira gets bruised by Jamahal Hill

In the bloodiest that fans saw in UFC 283, Jamahal hill jabbed with accuracy and sent head kicks toward Glover Teixeira. The accurate and heavy strikes cut open Texeira’s eyebrows, and he started bleeding profusely. As the fight progressed, fans could see Glover Teixeira and his cornermen trying to manage the deep cuts to the best of their ability.
