It seems like trouble tends to find Jon Jones after the recent reports of him issuing death threats made waves in the MMA community. Although he has denied those accusations, it has been the constant focus of many media platforms. Meanwhile, former double champion Henry Cejudo weighed in on that situation, stating that these incidents could force Jones to hang up his gloves.

2024 has not been kind to Jon Jones. Not too long ago, the heavyweight champion of the UFC was involved in an incident where he heckled a stand-up comedian during a show while intoxicated. Now, the recent death threat accusations by a couple of Drug Free Sport International officials have made fans wonder if ‘Bones’ is back to his troubled ways. But how will these accusations affect him? Let’s see what Henry Cejudo had to say about that.

Jon Jones could retire, claims Henry Cejudo

Dana White’s GOAT Jon Jones mentioned last year that he was considering retirement after fighting former two-time champion Stipe Miocic. But that may not take place anytime soon since he’s out of action due to injury. However, Henry Cejduo, who recently posted a YouTube video talking about Jon Jones’ recent controversy, believes Jones could just ride into the sunset if things like the death threat controversy keep happening.

“Yeah, 100 percent [these incidents can make him consider retirement],” said Henry Cejudo. ‘Triple C’ also talked about the fact that some fans want to see Jon Jones fight Tom Aspinall as well. But Cejudo doesn’t think that the heavyweight champion needs to do that since he has already built his legacy as the greatest MMA fighter ever.

“First of all, Jon doesn’t need Tom Aspinall for his legacy… These fights are easy money for Jon because that’s all Jon has to do is put in the wrestling,” the former double champion stated. Nevertheless, he did not count out the possibility of Jones retiring from MMA in the near future if people keep fabricating facts about him because of his past mistakes.

Henry Cejudo added, “But hinting on retirement for a guy like Jon, yeah, man. You’re sick of people sh*tting [on you]… ‘This is the last fight, I get into Holywood, make movies.'” Having talked about a possible career in the movie industry, Cejudo also suggested a few other means for Jon Jones to earn a significant amount of money if he chooses to retire.

Should ‘Bones’ start a YouTube Channel?

UFC superstars are more social than ever. Many of the retired and active fighters have established an online presence, like Chael Sonnen, Michael Bisping, Sean Strickland, and even Henry Cejudo, who talk about the sport and even about other fighters. ‘Triple C’ believes that can help Jones make connections with people in the online space and make some good money. Cejudo further stated, “I would start a YouTube channel if I was Jon, I would be getting connections with OnlyFans and do it that way.”

The best way to give back to the sport of MMA, according to Henry Cejudo, is for Jon Jones to share his knowledge and wisdom with others. That’s where the former double champion claims the money lies. “Share the knowledge, share everything that you’ve done in combat sports, whether it’s technical [or] tactical, your mistakes… the more you start showing a lot of that vulnerability as you have, that’s still going to make you money,” Cejudo added.

Jon Jones has not mentioned anything about retiring amidst his recent controversy. However, he has mentioned that he’s willing to hold his ground on denying the accusations made against him. It is a matter of time before the investigation results are produced by the Albuquerque Police Department.
