Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones backtracked on featherweight contender ‘The Korean Zombie’ after his fourth-round knockout loss against Alexander Volkanovski.

UFC 273 went down at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. An intriguing featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Chan Sung Jung served as the headliner.

Ahead of the fight, the ‘Bones’ posted a tweet and backed the South Korean mixed martial artist for the win. He wrote, Team zombie all day, let’s go! #UFC273″

Unfortunately, it wasn’t Jung’s day, as Volkanovski dominated the title challenger for most of the rounds. ‘The Korean Zombie’ took heavy shots from the champion, but remained on his feet.

However, referee Herb Dean saw enough and stopped the fight after just 45 seconds of the fourth round when ‘The Great’ landed a vicious combination.

Supporting ‘The Korean Zombie’ before the fight, ‘Bones’ changed his mind after the former lost the fight. He posted a meme showing the Simpsons character disappearing inside the bushes.

Later, the former light heavyweight champion also showered some pleasant words on the South Korean fighter.

‘Bones’ was surely enjoying the pay-per-view and sharing his thoughts about the same on his Twitter account. However, the comparison with the winner of the main event didn’t sit well with Jones.

When a user wrote, “Volk is gonna take your spot on the goat list,” ‘Bones’ hit back at him and asked, “How many defenses does he have?”

Well, it is a fact that the former light heavyweight champion is regarded as the GOAT of the sport by many fans and UFC pundits. It is because of his domination in the division for years- ‘Bones’ made an astonishing 13 title defenses.

‘The Great’ is undefeated in the UFC and has three successful title defenses under his name. However, he has a lot more to achieve in the sport before he can be compared with Jones.
