Jon Jones is on the offensive one week out from his heavyweight debut. The 35-year-old took to Twitter and chose to go after fellow heavyweights Ciryl Gane and Francis Ngannou. In a series of tweets, the former UFC light heavyweight champion discredited both Gane and Ngannou’s skills.

Jon Jones is preparing to face Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285 on March 4. His return against the Frenchman will also mark an end to his three-year hiatus. However, fans expected that Jones would return and challenge Francis Ngannou for the heavyweight title. Unfortunately, that was not meant to be as ‘The Predator’ left the UFC after failed negotiations. Consequently, the promotion stripped him of the title as well.

Ever since the UFC announced his fight against Gane, Ngannou has been a huge ‘what if’ factor. Similarly, many are also expecting Gane to be a tough challenge for Jones. Having had enough of the doubts, the UFC’s youngest-ever champion decided to speak out his thoughts.

Recently, Jon Jones changed his tune on Francis Ngannou’s exit from the UFC. While he was supportive of Ngannou knowing his worth initially, Jones later called him out for leaving the UFC as he was getting ready to return. Now he has doubled down on the insults with his recent tweets.

While interacting with the fans on Twitter, Jones trashed both Gane and Ngannou while referencing their fights. He trolled ‘Bon Gamin’, saying Ngannou was the best wrestler he ever fought. ‘Bones’ wrote, “Best wrestler he ever fought was Francis, that’s wild.”

He followed up with another shot, pointing out how Gane made the wrong call during his match and gave up the advantage. He said, “Gave up a dominant position, went for a leg lock when all he had to do was lay on an exhausted Francis.”

Additionally, Jones also mentioned how he would be a different profile from the fighters that Gane had fought so far. He wrote, “ganes last three opponents had terrible defense. Those guys couldn’t stop a kick if their life depended on it. He’s fought flat footed boxers his last three fights.”
