UFC 285 promised a lot of entertainment and the blockbuster event delivered on expectations. Jon Jones made his return to the cage after three years. Fans had made the long wait to see him in the cage and the moment finally arrived. There was a lot of build-up around who would win the heavyweight belt. Jon Jones had to get past former interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane and an intense battle was anticipated. In a somewhat anti-climatic affair, Jones made quick work of Ciryl Gane. The American mixed martial artist was able to mount and then choke Gane in the first round of the fight. The fight was effectively over in two minutes and Jones became the champion.

Along with the belt came a winning amount of  $50,000. Jon Jones has pledged to donate the amount towards community service in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The gesture was highly appreciated and worked well for the champion, who had his fair share of trouble with the law in the past.

Jon Jones’ comeback was a heavily anticipated affair. Media houses and fans had been speculating on different permutations and combinations of what might ensue when he came back. Nevertheless, fans welcomed him with massive applause into the cage.

As the fight started, both fighters sized up each other after touching gloves. A few punches flew and Jones ducked. He ducked only to attack Gane for a takedown and he succeeded. While Ciryl Gane did manage to get up for a short while, Jones again put him on his back and mounted him, and subsequently applied a choke on Gane. Gane tapped out and celebrations followed. Jon Jones won a huge amount as his winning prize money, including a performance bonus of $50,000. This amount he pledged to donate for community service in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

How much money will the fighters take home from UFC 285

Jon Jones will take an enormous sum of money home after his quick victory against Gane. Jones will get a total of $6192 K. He will receive $3 million in show-up money and another $3 Million as a potential bonus. His win bonus amounts to another $ 100k. Add to this the $42 K that comes from sponsorships and a $50k award bonus that he has pledged to donate.

Cyril Gane too will go home richer by 1232k. He received $500 K in show money, $700 k as potential money, and $32 K in sponsorships.
