The heavyweight division is currently in a difficult situation due to the title picture fiasco. At present, there are two champions: Jon Jones, the reigning heavyweight champion, and Tom Aspinall, the interim heavyweight champion. Aspinall has time and time again called out Jon Jones to fight him and unify the titles but ‘Bones’ is hellbent on fighting Stipe Miocic for a legacy fight. This behavior by the ‘GOAT’ has the entire community in fumes as they believe that Jones is just holding up the division.

So is Jon Jones ducking Tom Aspinall? Well, according to the fighter, how can he duck a fight if it had never been negotiated in the first place, “I had already voiced that I wasn’t interested in anymore randoms. Jon Jones gets openly called out by fans for ducking Tom Aspinall

Giving up the belt is often considered the most honorable action when one is injured. However, Jon Jones’ opinion differs somewhat from what the general public might think. Jamahal Hill, as well as Jiri Prochazka, relinquished their titles after they got themselves injured. the community respected their opinion but Jones’s actions are backfiring with the community, “Give up the belt or fight Tom, we don’t give a sh*t about Stipe and you can’t convince us it’s a good match up it’s laughable.”

More fans are of the opinion that Jones should rightfully defend his title against the interim champion than a man who has not fought in the last two years,  “Stop running from Aspinall.”

There was a time when Stipe Miocic was considered the boogeyman of the heavyweight division. It must be noted that Miocic is the first man to have defeated Francis Ngannou in the UFC. However, the Ohio native is way past his prime now and is looking for retirement. Fans state that it would be better for Jones to fight Aspinall and not Miocic, “Stipe is way past his prime Mr. Bones, stop going for the easy fight. Man hasn’t fought in years and is over 40, if that Fight happened 5 years ago it would be a bigger draw. Fight the current top dawg, Aspinall.”

Furthermore, more fans issued callouts to Jon Jones to fight ASpinall, “Blud will do everything except fighting tom.”, “Stop ducking Tom Jon we all know you’re scared.” Last but not the least, Jones finally found some support from a fan, “I can wait for Jones to beat washed up 42y/o stipe and finish aspinal end the hype.”

Will Jon Jones retire after fighting Stipe Miocic or will he dance one more time against Tom Aspinall? What’s your take on the situation? State your thoughts in the comments below.
