Jon Jones Leaves Dominick Reyes and Ciryl Gane Off His List of “Best Strikers” Faced

Jon Jones’ return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship as a heavyweight fighter has taken over the minds of the netizens. UFC 285 is packed with excitement as the main card features Jones and Ciryl Gane. As the date for the much-awaited heavyweight bout comes closer, the adrenaline levels have begun to rise. However, it’s not just the mixed martial arts fans who are excited about the fight. But when the former UFC light heavyweight champion was asked if Gane was the best striker he went against, ‘Bones’ already had a reply. He named a couple of fighters claiming that they were more intimidating.

However, he left a few names that should have been on the list. The fact that the upcoming match was not a kickboxing fight seemingly consoled Jones and raised his confidence. Furthermore, the fighter claimed that he felt ‘pretty comfortable’.

Undeniably, the fighter’s return to the cage after three years is destined to have a great impact on the fans. However, the main card is not the only fight that raises the levels of excitement. UFC 285 is packed with cards meant to take the audience on a rollercoaster ride.

Jon Jones names the strongest strikers before his bout against Ciryl Gane

‘Bones’ recently took to Twitter to express his excitement for his return to the Octagon. He wrote, “Man I’m having a great day today, just a few days away from one of the biggest opportunities in my life. I refuse to let anything or anyone steal my joy, I’m a blessed man. I claim it.”

However, the UFC veteran’s enthusiasm was tackled with a question from one of the MMA fans. The fan questioned if Jones believed that ‘Bon Gamin’ was the best striker he had ever faced. Without a doubt, the former two-time light heavyweight champion declared that he has fought many others who were nastier and stronger than his next opponent.

Jones named Thiago Santos and Lyoto Machida as the better warriors. He replied, “No I don’t, Thiago Santos, Lyoto Machida the list goes on. I fought many guys who were nasty on their feet. Guys with very intimidating one strike knockout power. I feel pretty comfortable, and this is definitely not a kickboxing match.” However, he left out Dominick Reyes along with Gane

Jones’ proposal to Daniel Cormier 

Prior to one of the most anticipated fights, Jones went ahead and tweeted his desire for Daniel Cormier to commentate for his upcoming fight. Although DC was recently attacked by a fan asking him not to commentate on Jones’ fight, the former champion seemingly didn’t mind. ‘Bones’ welcomed DC to commentate, believing that he was really good at what he does.

Jones wrote, “DC you are more than welcome to commentate at my fight, I think you are really good at what you do. I trust that you would be non-biased. All the best brother.” Although the rivalry between the two isn’t unknown to the world, the act of support extended toward Cormier was indeed a commendable one.
