Jon Jones approached his first UFC heavyweight title defense with a very different mindset. The two fighters respected each other for much of the fight build-up; however, tensions soared after Stipe Miocic allegedly mentioned Jones’ children – something that he interpreted as a direct attack on his family. Despite ‘Stone Cold’ denying the comments, ‘Bones’ made the fight a personal affair, one where he stood out tall in the end. But even after the battle came to an end, Jones is still taking a jibe at Stipe Miocic.

After ‘Bones’ knocked out the challenger in round three of the fight via a spinning back kick followed by ground-and-pound, ‘Stone Cold’ announced his retirement from the sport. Many fans and peers alike sent out their tribute to the heavyweight fighter; however, it seems like Jon Jones still hasn’t forgiven him for his alleged comments. In fact, taking to his X account, Jones revealed that he has renamed his spinning back-kick. He wrote, “I renamed it the spinning b*tch kick.”

In another tweet, he quoted Joe Rogan, who previously explained in an episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ why he believes Jon Jones is the true MMA GOAT. Rogan claimed that Jones has an elite mentality and is a true warrior inside and outside the ring. So according to the UFC commentator, ‘Bones’ is hated by many for simply being a great fighter. Using his quote, the UFC heavyweight champion thanked his fans for showing their support at UFC 309. Jon Jones wrote, “‘They’re always hated [Jones], you have to hate them because you can’t beat them ~ Joe Rogan’. So much truth to that statement, at the same time the love I felt at the garden this weekend. I’ll never forget. It was great to be home.”

Jon Jones reiterates his desire to fight Alex Pereira

If Jon Jones returns to the octagon, he has made it clear that he expects to receive a generous reward. There are two possible matchups on the table: a clash with interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall or a showdown with current light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

At the UFC 309 post-fight press conference, Jones made it clear on which fight he prefers. “I’m not really worried about the Tom fight. I’m worried about the Pereira fight. That’s what I want to do. I think if the UFC wants to have me back, then I think that’s the fight they’ll make. I’ve been really clear about my intentions. That’s what I want. I just feel like anybody would understand at this point. I’ll retire the heavyweight belt if I have to. Tom can have the heavyweight championship. I don’t really care about it.”

Jones also hinted that he would pull out if his conditions were not met, stating that one of the good things about negotiating is being willing to give up on a deal and that he wants his next deal to be a lucrative one. If not, he won’t shy away from walking out of it. But what do you think? Who do you want Jones to fight next? Let us know in the comments.
