Jon Jones deserves to be on top of the UFC P4P list, in his eyes at least. Ever since the UFC moved Khabib Nurmagomedov up to the top spot of the rankings, the former light heavyweight champion has been making his case on Twitter.

“Never be afraid to stand up for yourself, be your own biggest cheerleader. No one will have your back like you can,” Jones posted.

‘Bones’ then proceeded to tweet out his thoughts on his dominance in the UFC. He has been with the promotion for over 12 years, having made his debut in 2008. His record of becoming the youngest ever UFC champion still stands to this day. The fighter posted an image of his first four championship opponents and wrote, “Back when I only had four championships, this is what you call elite competition.”

Jones subsequently defended his title against the likes of Rampage Jackson, Lyoto Machida, and Rashad Evans. All legends of the sport.

A Twitter user had tweeted at the former UFC light heavyweight champion, “All in their early 30s while you were 23-24.” ‘Bones’ replied, “Which makes it even more unbelievable, I had only been training for three years.”

Jon Jones way to the top of the P4P rankings
A large portion of the MMA fan base thought that Dominick Reyes had defeated Jones in a razor-close fight. Reyes was relatively unknown to the majority of the fan base but was undefeated in his professional career.

‘The Devastator’ showcased his excellent striking and athleticism during the fight. He touched up Jones but ultimately was left on the wrong end of a unanimous decision to the outrage of the fans. He would go on to face Jan Blachowicz in the co-main event of UFC 253 for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title. Ultimately, he came up short as he couldn’t follow up on his stellar display at UFC 247.

Jones has indeed been only fighting title fights for the better part of a decade and has vanquished generations of fighters. With Khabib retiring, ‘Bones’ has plenty of time to get back to the top of the UFC P4P rankings. He is currently preparing for his heavyweight debut and should be in line to face the winner of Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou.
