Jonathan Martinez is without a doubt one of the best signings made by the promotion in the bantamweight division. The 5’7″ American is a mixture of power and speed inside the Octagon. Before his move to the UFC, ‘Dragon’ featured in many other fighting promotions, which included XFL, GCS, and many more. He made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 138 against Andre Soukhamthath.

The American did not have a dream start to his UFC career and lost the fight via unanimous decision. However, in his next fight, Martinez earned his first victory in the UFC against Wuliji Buren at UFC 234. Things then started to move rapidly for the bantamweight contender from there on.

He won his next fight as well, but he couldn’t keep his winning momentum going for long enough. Andre Ewell proved too much to handle for the 30-year-old, as he lost the fight via decision at UFC 247: Jones vs. Reyes. ‘Dragon’ then managed to win his next two fights and seemed unbeatable inside the Octagon.
