The entire MMA community came out and shared wishes for America’s Independence Day to commemorate the Declaration of Independence. Chiefly, ‘Happy fourth of July’ was trending across Twitter as fighters all over the UFC’s roster sent out good wishes. Not to mention, even fighters from other countries joined in on the festivities and engaged with fans on Twitter.

Twitter is usually a platform that fighters use to call out each other, however, the air was filled with jovial cheer. With the UFC on a hiatus this week, it gave fans and fighters a chance to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Fighters like Michael Chiesa and Chris Weidman put a somewhat unconventional spin on things when sending out their wishes. However, the general air of positivity was felt by everyone in the MMA world.

Additionally, fighters and other personalities from other nations who have made it big in America shared sentiments of gratitude about the opportunities that the United States afforded them. Francis Ngannou and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, couldn’t help but reflect on the way they have risen in America.

UFC 264: The Countdown begins

There’s a clear ‘calm before the storm’ feeling that’s brewing in the MMA world as UFC 264 is right around the corner. Moreover, given the headliner alone, it’s expected to be a home run at the box office amongst hardcore and casual fans.
