Even after five full rounds, they didn’t bury the hatchet and seem to want more. Amidst all this remaining hate, Masvidal has now tweeted something out of the blue.

‘Street Jesus’ Jorge Masvidal issued a challenge to the second-best welterweight in the UFC. Although he tagged Covington, the context seemed to run bleak.

Calling this, ‘Show your face challenge’, you know? Um, what’s up? I’m from Dade county, you talk that sh** you gotta back it up. That’s how my city rolls, man,” stated Masvidal.

However, another individual cleared things up.

Just minutes before this, Jorge Masvidal’s manager Malki Kawa tweeted about this situation, which cleared things up to the fans who saw the BMF’s tweet.

He tweeted, “I’m hearing that a someone not from miami who says he’s the king of it is missing a tooth. Can someone confirm this? I need the video asap.”

Putting two and two together, it appears Masvidal broke one of Colby Covington’s teeth during an altercation somewhere.

Drawing rapid reactions on social media, ‘The Nelk boys’ a group of media personalities and podcast professionals, tweeted in distaste against Masvidal for his actions against Covington.

Masvidal and Covington: No burying the hatchet

The two fighters went from being best friends and teammates in the same gym to sour enemies. Their conflict and social media back and forth has been covered closely. The build-up to the fight was just as good as the fight.

Although Covington has made up his mind that he’s the definitive winner, Masvidal seems to still have a lot of fire in him regarding their relationship as of the moment. Looking at the intensity and on-sight violence they perpetuate, we could be looking at another fight in the future.

What’s next for Jorge Masvidal?

Ever since UFC 272, things have seemed very cloudy for Jorge Masvidal. His position in the UFC, despite getting a new deal, just doesn’t seem to make the traction it potentially could have. Dana White is largely clueless about how to proceed with his matchups.

With that being said, however, only time will tell. Masvidal might be on track to a title shot if he manages to beat the top-ranked welterweights this time around.
