Both ‘Gamebred’ and ‘Chaos’ are top welterweight fighters. ‘Chaos’ is the number one ranked in the division, while Masvidal is #8. However, the hatred for his friend-turned-rival didn’t stop Jorge Masvidal from praising his skills. Covington convincingly defeated his rival inside the Octagon, but the two had a face-off again in the street days later.
The 37-year-old fighter recently appeared on the IMPAULSIVE podcast hosted by YouTuber-turned professional boxer Logan Paul. He discussed many aspects of life and sport on the podcast, including his hatred for Covington.
However, there was a moment when Masvidal explained what went through in the fight, and accepted the difficulties he faced. He was asked whether the Covington fight was one of the hardest battles he had fought in his career.
“It wasn’t like a way where I was like getting hurt but uh, I did get into some bad positions that let into me getting more bad positions. And like I said man, the wrestling if you get like under uh… a guy that’s good and he’s on top of you early, it’s wear and f**king tear on your body you know. And I was prepared for it you know but… just it wasn’t my day I was a little flat in the wrestling department when I needed to be at 110 percent in the wrestling department.”

Many fans are expecting UFC to put this rivalry to good use and chalk out a much-awaited rematch. However, a possibility of the same looks rare in the near future as Colby Covington might face rising prospect Khamzat Chimaev next.
The ‘Wolf’ jumped the welterweight rankings after his win over Gilbert Burns, becoming the #3 in the division. UFC President Dana White has hinted at a possible battle between top-ranked Covington and Chimaev.
