The name Jorge Masvidal is a household one in the entire UFC. The man from Miami, Florida is considered by many as one of the most furious strikers in the UFC. Masvidal also holds the ‘BMF’ title of the UFC, which he achieved after defeating the ‘Stockton Gangster’, Nate Diaz.

He also holds the record for the fastest UFC knockout against Ben Askren in just 5 seconds into the fight. He is also known for his avid love of social media. Masvidal’s Facebook page often displays multiple posts uploaded in a single day as well.

Recently, ‘Gamebred’ took to Facebook once more and shared a video that showcased referees stopping fighters from hitting their opponents after the fight was stopped. Masvidal also went sarcastic in his caption about this post.

Masvidal’s post showcased a number of occasions where the referees got into trouble with one of the fighters after the stoppage of the fight. In some instances, the referee also managed to successfully separate the raging fighter from hitting their opponents all by his own.

Whereas, on the other occasions, the beaten fighter got completely dazed and was unaware of the stoppage of the fight. They mistook the referee as their opponent and started grappling them.

‘Gambred’ was understandably startled by this video. The caption to his shared post read, “These refs are a problem”. Being a fighter, he clearly wanted the fights to continue and was thereby disturbed by the intervention of the referees.

The post from Jorge Masvidal showcased extraordinary chokes from referees

A few instances of the video must have got even Masvidal amazed. The first few situations of the video showcased some amazing chokes by the referees to separate the fighters after the stoppage of the fight.

In the first situation, the referee put the dominating fighter in a rear naked choke to stop him from hitting his opponent. The second instance showcased the defeated dazed fighter mistakenly trying to attack the referee after the stoppage of the fight.

The referee maneuvered an awesome standing guillotine choke to separate himself from the fighter. His cornermen then came in to take control of him.

One instance also exhibits another extraordinary rear naked choke from the referee. The fighter refused to stop hitting his opponent even after the referee tapped his back and asked him to stop. Looking at the emergency situation, the referee had to stop the fighter with a rear naked choke.

Despite Masvidal’s negative views, it may be agreed that it is also important for the referees to have some training in martial arts as well, apart from their knowledge. It can definitely come in handy whenever adverse situations arise.
