Jorge Masvidal is known to be one of the best strikers in the UFC. He is a veteran of the promotion with 16 knockouts to his name. However, ‘Gamebred’ recently named one fighter that he loves to watch. He is none other than the bantamweight prospect, Adrian Yanez.

Adrian Yanez is a knockout artist on the rise. He was a part of Dana White‘s Contender Series 28, where ‘Mr. Knockout’ earned a UFC contract in just 39 seconds. Moreover, people have compared him with the veteran Masvidal. Yanez has already amassed a record of 16 wins and 3 losses in MMA.

Masvidal recently appeared in an interview and talked about his love of fighting. He used to engage in street fights before he found his way through mixed martial arts. He also had some words of praise for Adrian Yanez and commended his performances so far.

‘Gamebred’ claims to love watching Adrian Yanez fight and commended ‘Mr. Knockout’s fighting style. Masvidal said, “There’s a young gun coming up. He’s in my card [UFC 287]. Young dude, Latin dude. Bro has f***ing hands, has good takedown defense …Janez, Yanez [Adrian Yanez]?”

“This kid’s a f***ing beast, man. I am watching him and I really like what this kid’s got. I am hoping he gets a W as well …this kid could really take off, man. He has some skills that set him apart from everybody else.”

Masvidal believes that Adrian Yanez is a unique fighter. Apart from his skills, ‘Gamebred’ mentions his mean demeanor, which can propel him to the upper echelons of fighters.

“I’ve seen a couple of them …a friend of mine sent me some highlights and I was like ‘holy smokes! this kid’s good man. So I just became a fan and keep watching him. I think he’s got a huge [potential]. And What I really like is that he hurts guys and still stays calm and f***ing mean, though. I really like that in a fighter, that dog, f***ing mean,” said Masvidal.

Masvidal mentions that Yanez is still young and has a lot to learn before he eventually becomes what he is capable of. He said, “This kid has it, man. Not everybody’s born to fight in a big part and not every fighter has that legit next level meanness in them. He’s [Yanez] young and he’s only gonna get meaner and f***ing better, man.” 

Yanez has remained undefeated since his debut in the promotion. Moreover, six of his seven fighters in the UFC have come from knockouts. He displayed great dominance in the fight against Tony Kelley. Yanez is clearly proving to be one of the most exciting up-and-coming fighters on the roster.
