UFC welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal spoke out on his YouTube platform ahead of his title fight at UFC 261. ‘Gamebred’ will rematch Kamaru Usman for his welterweight strap in what promises to be a fiery grudge match. The two faced off back at UFC 251 back in July, where Usman earned a dominant decision win.
As Masvidal took the fight on six days’ notice, fans have pondered whether he fought in a diminished capacity, Now, with a full training camp, fans expect Jorge Masvidal to put on a powerful showing against ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’. What’s more, the event will be the first to welcome back 15,000 UFC fans to the Vystar Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Jorge Masvidal laser-focused in training camp
The former street fighter who will partake in his fiftieth professional fight against Usman has been entrenched in a vigorous training camp. While filming some behind-the-scenes training footage for his YouTube channel, Masvidal took the opportunity to shout out to one of his teammates. Chiefly, ‘Gamebred’ went in on Cody Law, a collegiate wrestling phenom with a bright future in MMA.

The BMF said, “Cody Law wrestled at Penn State for a little bit, then he transferred, he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with. We actually need some guys at 145-pounds at American Top Team, and this guy comes out of nowhere. He has seven amateur fights, seven wins. Has a great work ethic, has a great mindset. I think this guy can go far. This could be a horse to bet on in the race.”
Cody Law: A fresh face at ATT
Law is currently 3-0 and is fresh off a unanimous decision win at Bellator 256, the event headlined by Ryan Bader and Lyoto Machida. Since beginning his professional career, he has maintained an active schedule which is important for an up and comer. Prior to his most recent UD win, the 26-year-old finished both his opponents via Submission and TKO, respectively.

Jorge Masvidal has seen it all in MMA and has an ability to gauge talent based on his experience. Cody Law will benefit greatly from training with an ace like ‘Gamebred’, and the entire team over at ATT. Fans will definitely keep one eye on Cody Law, as Masvidal has name-dropped him. Hence, there will be added attention on Law as he makes his way through the ranks at Bellator MMA.
