Despite retiring from the sport of mixed martial arts back in 2020, Nurmagomedov continues to get called out. The unbeaten UFC star closed out his career on top by winning 29-0 and defending his title against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. This served as his final fight in the promotion and he has stayed out of the sport ever since.

Jorge Masvidal’s teammate and fellow American Top Team member Bo Nickal recently made his MMA debut at the iKON Fighting Championship and dominantly finished in the very first round. UFC star Jorge Masvidal offered his reaction to the fight, as he claimed Nickal to be a ‘problem’ for everyone in the sport.

As per a report by givemesport, Nickal made bold claims about besting the undefeated mixed martial artist in wrestling in under a minute. Here’s what he had to say.
“To be 100 percent honest with you, if I were to ever wrestle Khabib, Khabib wouldn’t last more than 30 seconds against me in a wrestling match. Maybe 60 seconds, tops. I respect the guy, don’t get me wrong, like he’s tough. If he’s not the greatest of all time in MMA, he’s up there. There’s nobody that can have an all-time greats list and not have him on it.”

ATT has produced many iconic stars for the promotion and is home to many important MMA figures like Jorge Masvidal, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Dustin Poirier, and more. It would not be a surprise if Nickal also manages to scale the world of MMA, much like his peers.

Will Khabib Nurmagomedov step up to Bo Nickal?
Nickal’s call-out suggests he wants to engage in a wrestling match with the retired fighter instead of MMA. With multiple championships and a decorated career as a wrestler, Nurmagomedov will definitely find his hands with this exhibition bout. He can definitely book this bout as a grappling exchange instead of an MMA fight.

In reality, Nickal’s call-out will probably not produce any response from the Dagestani fighter. He has moved on from prize fighting and has transitioned into the role of coach and MMA promoter.
