This holiday season, Colby Covington has decided to ditch his image as a bad guy in the UFC and turn into a man that many admire instead. How? Well, that’s because the former interim UFC welterweight champion was seen distributing food, water, and blankets to the needy and homeless in a video that is now going viral on the internet.

Known for his brash fight personality, Covington is the man that many love to hate instead. One of the biggest motivations? His ability to talk trash often crosses boundaries, such as taking shots at Leon Edwards’ deceased father. However, the 36-year-old fighter often claims that he’s playing the role of the bad man to sell his fights, and now he is proving it to be right as he went on Twitch to videograph himself being a very generous man to the homeless.

In the video, Covington takes some time off training, goes around the city in his car, and interacts with the needy. He further meets a homeless man and donates him some food and water. Not just that, Covington then proceeds to gift him a sweater as well to survive the freezing cold of winter. Wishing the homeless man a Happy New Year, the former interim UFC welterweight champion says that together the duo would try to make 2025 the best year of their lives so far. He said, “God bless man, Happy New Year. Let’s make it the best year yet.”

While this may not be enough for fans to wash off all the sins that he committed by being the brashest fighter on the mic, the UFC fighter did manage to prove his point to an extent that the character he plays before his fight might indeed be just a character and not his real self. As soon as Colby Covington shared the act on his Twitch, many fans were left divided and in disbelief. According to several fans, it was due time that the former interim UFC welterweight champion shed his villainous act and reveal himself as the good man that he is. Praising the generous deed of donation, fans let Colby Covington know that they finally see him for who he really is. They shared, “It really is just a mask; I bet that he is a really nice guy outside of the octagon,” “Colby is a genuine dude out of the cage,” and “Imagine Colby turns babyface.”

According to a fan, it must’ve been exhausting for the 36-year-old fighter to keep on acting badly. As a result, he finally dropped his act.“Keeping his act on 24/7 has to become exhausting at some stage.” However, others were quick to accuse the 36-year-old fighter of doing the act just to fix his image. They claimed that if the American fighter wanted to be generous, he also could’ve done the act without recording it for everybody to see. His recent loss has proved that the MMA star might be reaching the twilight of his career, so now he is trying to become a crowd favorite instead.

Taking to the comments, the fans wrote, “Doing it for the camera lol,” “Why film it? Just do it,” and “Filming this is classic Colby.” Another user defended the accusations of PR by claiming that it is the gesture that matters the most, irrespective of whether it was being recorded or not. “Even if he records it or not, the gesture is what matters most. “ Well, it seems like the MMA world is surely in disbelief of this act.
