The first encounter between Makhachev and Oliveira occurred at UFC 280 in Abu Dabi. Makhachev rose to the occasion and defeated the Brazilian. However, a rematch between the fighters was scheduled at UFC 294, which did not materialize because Oliviera was injured. The current lightweight champion is ready to return to the ring after defending his title at UFC 294. Daniel Cormier took his own YouTube channel to give us the details of the next fight.

In the video, Cormier said:’ When Islam says he wants to fight three times, we know who’s first: Charles Oliveira. I believe this fight will happen at the beginning of March in Saudi Arabia because, you know, guys doing this whole fight thing, especially with guys like Islam with Chimaev, it’s not that hard to piece together times in which it would work for those guys to fight. Islam fought in February.
