UFC San Diego had many intriguing bouts. A light heavyweight contest on the main card between Devin Clark and Azamat Murzakanov showcased the depth of the 205 lbs division. ‘The Professional’ secured a T/KO victory over ‘Brown Bear’ in the third round after both athletes looked great throughout the bout.

The 32-year-old, Clark, was coming off an impressive win over William Knight at UFC Fight Night: Luque vs. Muhammad 2 on April 16. The Mike Winkeljohn student was 3-2 in his last five bouts. Now, after this loss, Albuquerque, New Mexico representative is 7-7 in his 14-fight UFC career.

Whereas, K-Dojo Warrior Tribe standout, who got the UFC contract at Dana White Contender Series in 2021, was only in his second UFC appearance. The Russia-born fighter won his UFC debut against Tafon Nchukwi, in an impressive outing with a round 3 flying knee T/KO.

Even in this bout, the third round was the charm for the 33-year-old; Murzakanov found the finish as he landed a brutal body shot to drop Clark. With the win, the New Jersey-based athlete improved to a 12-0 record in MMA.

The body shot to the ground and pound finish got reactions from MMA fans who used social platforms to express it.

Clark and Murzakanov put on a show for the fight fans. Before the finish, both fighters had their moments. However, Murzakanov was finding the mark more times than his counterpart. And a beautiful shot from the DWCS alumni to the solar plexus of the South Dakota-based professional put him on the mat.

The Russian athlete showed tremendous potential in the bout, chiefly considering he was fighting a veteran of the division who has competed against the likes of former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz and top contenders Aleksandar Rakic and Anthony Smith.

With two wins under his belt, this DWCS standout will look to get a top 15 opponent for his next 205 lbs outing.
