Having defeated everyone but Alexander Volkanovski in the featherweight division, Max Holloway is moving up. ‘Blessed’ will take on Justin Gaethje for the BMF title at UFC 300 anniversary mega-card in a lightweight bout.
The former featherweight champion has fought once before at 155. Holloway lost a unanimous decision to Dustin Poirier at UFC 236 back in 2019 in his only other sojourn at lightweight. Which is why Michael Bisping is all praises for the American for taking the fight.

Bisping thinks Gaethje is a difficult prospect for Max Holloway
While discussing the fight on his YouTube channel, former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping tipped his hat to Max Holloway for having the guts to move up and face Gaethje. The BMF champion is one of the most dangerous strikers in the UFC with knockout power in each hand combined with his devastating leg kicks.
The Englishman pointed out that Gaethje was a dangerous opponent for ‘Blessed’, but he was brave enough to try and fight ‘The Human Highlight’ even though he is at a disadvantage with their natural size and the BMF champion’s power.
“That’s [taking the Gaethje fight is] Max Holloway saying ‘You know what, I’ll have a go.’ He doesn’t know he can win. He doesn’t know he can get the job done. But he’s like ‘You know what, I’m man enough to give it a try,” Bisping said.
“I’ve got the balls, I’m willing to put my balls on a plate and let Justin Gaethje eat them, okay’. Justin Gaethje might eat Max Holloway’s ba**s… That’s why you got to respect Max Holloway here. It’s just an incredibly brave thing to do,” the UFC commentator added.

Gaethje expects a “war of attrition” against Holloway
Max Holloway has never been knocked out in his UFC career so far. Justin Gaethje, on the other hand, has won eighty percent of his fights via knockout. And while ‘The Human Highlight’ is hopeful of being the first to knock Holloway out, he is expecting a hard battle with the former champion.

“This could be a war, a battle of attrition. If I can’t find him, if I can’t hurt him, then he never stops. He’s constantly creating angles and constantly creating pressure, and it could be a tough fight. If I can’t find his timing early, momentum is everything in there,” Gaethje said of his upcoming UFC 300 fight against Holloway. Who do you think will win Gaethje or Holloway?
