Justin Gaethje lost to Charles Oliveira at UFC 274. The first round of submission gave Charles Oliveira the pass to fight Islam Makhachev at UFC 280. Justin Gaethje is enjoying his time away from the fighting. He however recently talked about the possibility of him fighting Conor McGregor.

‘The Highlight’ was talking to Marc Raimondi from ESPN. Gaethje was responding to Charles Oliveira losing to Islam Makhachev. He said Oliveira defeated him and fought Makhachev, but the way he got dominated indicates that he needs to get up and get up early to put on some extra hours of training.

Marc Raimondi then asked Gaethje about the possibility of him fighting Conor McGregor when he comes back in the Octagon. ‘The Highlight’ had no qualms in saying that he thought the chances were “zero percent“. Replying to Raimondi he said,” he only finds people coming off losses and here we are so I don’t think it’s gonna happen at all. I have I think there’s about a zero percent chance.”

Justin Gaethje thinks Conor McGregor will never come back

Marc Raimondi further prodded Gaethje on why he feels McGregor is not coming back. Gaethje Responded, “I mean you’re talking I mean a fight for any like purely strictly entertainment value possibly but as far as coming back and making you know like being a competitive athlete trying to fight for a title absolutely never again.”

Conor McGregor has been out of the scheme of things for a while now. It is also very clear that he is not coming back for the next 6-8 months because he isn’t in the USADA testing pool right now. Rules will need him to be in the pool for 6 months and have at least two tests done.

The last time Gaethje got into the Octagon, he lost to Charles Oliveira. He hasn’t lost everything yet though. Justin Gaethje will be determined to get back swinging. Based on standings and UFC dynamics, Justin Gaethje might face Beneil Dariush, Dustin Poirier, and Michael Chandler in his next few fights.
