While having a conversation with Henry Cejudo on ‘The Pound-4-Pound podcast,’ Kamaru Usman emphasized that the ‘BMF; title was never meant to be an actual title and it into existence just because Dana White wanted to have a huge fight at the MSG arena. Usman further emphasized that he was the real reason for the creation of the belt, “Why are we talking about this like this is a real title? It’s not. This was a hypothetical that was made up because of me. Let’s not forget that myself and Covington were supposed to fight in MSG in New York.”

Let’s create this, alright, it’s called the baddest motherf’er belt…’ Come on. Are you serious? That’s why it started.”
