The former welterweight champ looks to be handling his recent title loss quite well. 

The Nigerian Nightmare, right after the fight, congratulated his opponent Leon Edwards for winning the belt and promised his fans to make a comeback.

Leon Edwards’ title victory over Usman will go down in the history books as one of the greatest comebacks wins ever. The fighter was losing the fight soundly before delivering the knockout blow.

Kamaru Usman has indicated that he wants the rematch with Leon Edwards. UFC President, Dana White has also shown interest in booking the rematch. White has also teased the media by saying that the venue for the trilogy may be Wembley stadium. 

Leon Edwards has also been called out by two-time title contender, Jorge Masvidal. However, fans think it’s highly unlikely that these two would meet inside the cage since ‘Gamebred’ is on a three-fight losing streak. 

Although, both share a brief history. Popularised as a three-piece and a soda, Masvidal punched Leon Edwards backstage in London after a UFC event. Masvidal was giving his post-fight interview after knocking out Darren Till when this incident took place. 

Another, big matchup in welterweight sees, Nate Diaz vs Khamzat Chimaev headline UFC 279. If either of the two scores a comprehensive victory, then can also contest their shot at the belt.
