There is no doubt that Kamaru Usman is one of the best fighters to ever walk into the UFC octagon. The fact that he is currently ranked first in the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings only adds to this case. Usman has beaten some of the best fighters in the welterweight division and has proven himself as the best welterweight champion.
This weekend, two of Usman’s most prominent opponents will face off against each other in a highly anticipated event of UFC 272. Jorge Masvidal will take on Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington in the main event of the evening at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
In a recent video posted by ESPN MMA, Kamaru Usman stated why he is excited to see Covington and Masvidal fight each other.

Usman said, “You know what? I’m gonna be honest. My daughter made me excited for this. Because she wanted to see this. She’s like, oh yeah, I want to go to that fight. I was like you want to go to that fight?”
He then added,” I had to prepare for these guys twice, yeah, each. So it was it was definitely a very chaotic moment having to prepare for these guys. Not only their athleticism, not only their skills, but also the trash talk. All the things they said. One guy was going to baptize me, the other guy was going to put me on a stretcher… I’m being honest when I say I am a fan of, maybe not the biggest fan yeah, but I’m a fan of both guys. And I can’t wait to watch that fight next Saturday night.”

What’s next for Kamaru Usman?
Third-ranked UFC welterweight fighter, Leon Edwards is most likely to take on Kamaru Usman for the title in his next bout. Edwards has proven himself time and again in the previous bouts. The fact that he is currently on a nine-fight winning streak makes it even more likely for him to be the next title challenger.
