UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal is infamous for trash-talking. Recently, ‘Gamebred’ took a shot at the PFL women’s fighter and teammate, Kayla Harrison, in an interview. However, it wasn’t anything serious. The welterweight fighter was just pulling her leg because she was calling herself the captain of the team at The American Top Team gym.

Recently, ‘Gamebred’ appeared in the latest episode of MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. He talked about the next fight, future moves, and other important things.

While talking about Harrison, Masvidal jokingly said, “Oh, you talking about the Judo girl, yeah, yeah I know her. No, man, I love that girl, you crazy. I just gotta troll her man. She thinks she is a team captain. Obviously, she’s not. I love them both. I have known Amanda obviously longer and they are both freaking amazing.”

He added, “But the thing is though, Kayla thinks she’s a team captain, that doesn’t sit well with me. I’m not the official team captain, you know, there are like a lot of factors. I’ll just tell you this much. Let me clarify this here on the ultimate MMA show. She’s not team captain. I’m like the person that could have signed the team captain. I have that kind of power at American Top Team. And once again I’ll repeat, she’s not the team captain. She’s freaking amazing at fighting and, for the most part, I’m scared of her. You know, that’s why I can act wild now over the phone.”

Masvidal was having a good time taking a dig at his teammate. However, this won’t be the same case when he returns to the octagon to take on one of his rivals in the promotion.

Unfortunately, other fighters from the roster were already booked. Hence, considering the bad blood between Masvidal and the fellow welterweight Leon Edwards, the promotion set up a non-title welterweight bout after both the parties agreed.
