The Englishman Edwards recently posted a tweet saying he doesn’t want to fight a two-skid fighter Masvidal and will aim for the title for his next fight. However, these claims didn’t settle well with the ‘Gamebred’ and he quickly reacted to Edwards’s tweet with nasty words.

Masvidal wrote, “If you not gonna fight then keep my name out your p**sy a*s mouth you clout chasing biatch #supernecessary”

However, this is not the first time both the welterweight fighters exchanged verbal shots with each other. ‘Gamebred’ and ‘Rocky’ have a history dating back to 2019 at a UFC event in London.

While Masvidal was giving a post-fight interview, both men got into a verbal back-and-forth in the event’s backstage. Things got heated and ‘The Gamebred’ served ‘Rocky’ with a ‘three-piece and soda’. However, security separated both men.

Ever since then, the Brit fighter has been wanting to settle the matter inside the octagon. However, when the promotion was about to set up the fight, Edwards backed off, canceling out Masvidal.

However, as this old rivalry is firing up now, a clash between both the fighters might be possible.

Will Jorge Masvidal Settle the Matters With Leon Edwards Inside the Octagon

‘The Gamebred’ is currently coming off a two-fight skid. However, he has now hinted at a comeback and is waiting for a viable opponent for his next fight. Even though Masvidal has plenty of options, he is aiming for UFC welterweight gold for his return.

Masvidal also expressed his interest in fighting Nate Diaz. However, this fight isn’t official yet, and the UFC has set up a rematch between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington for the welterweight gold.

Hence, a title shot might not be possible for both ‘Gamebred’ and ‘Rocky’ this year. So a square-off between both the men seems a viable solution for the promotion. Also, this fight might garner a lot of attention from the fans because of the old rivalry.

What are your thoughts about this fight? Will ‘Gamebred’ and ‘Rocky’ clash inside the cage? Let us know in the comments below.
