

Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier have had several not-so-friendly interactions in the past. The Irishman has gone after Cormier for his comments on more than one occasion. Cormier’s bond with Khabib Nurmagomedov is also a factor in the rift between the two. ‘DC’ has also been critical of McGregor crossing the lines while trash-talking Nurmagomedov. Meanwhile, McGregor has also fired off on Cormier for biased commentary during his fights.

However, there have also been moments of respect between the two former UFC double champions. McGregor has never shown a lack of cordiality when meeting Cormier in person. Now, in a move that surprised many, McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh has shared a picture of himself with Daniel Cormier after a training session. This unlikely and surprising pair-up has caused some stir among the fans and raised a lot of questions.

Conor McGregor has always stood by his head coach John Kavanagh when a lot of prominent MMA pros called for him to change camps. The Irishman pledged fealty to Kavanagh and SBG Ireland for life and still continues to train there. With Kavanagh posing alongside, some fans could not help but wonder how this would translate to McGregor.

Kavanagh trained with Cormier as part of the Train Alta program. Kavanagh has been a part of the program for quite a while now and would not waste the opportunity to train with someone of Cormier’s experience and caliber.
