Khabib Nurmagomedov Announces Massive Fight Between Alexander Shlemenko and Artur Guseinov

Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the greatest fighters to ever be a part of MMA. ‘The Eagle’ has an incredible MMA record of 29-0 and many often consider him to be one of the greatest champions in UFC history. Nurmagomedov last competed in the UFC back in 2020. The fighter faced Justin Gaethje at the UFC 254 event and won via a 2nd round submission.

Nurmagomedov retired after that fight and since his retirement, ‘The Eagle’ has expressed no desire to return to the Octagon. After retirement, Nurmagomedov has been a part of various business ventures, including owning his very own MMA promotion back in Russia. ‘The Eagle’ purchased the Gorilla Fighting Championship, a Russia-based MMA promotion, and renamed it to Eagle Fighting Championship.

Now recently Nurmagomedov has announced a big MMA fight set to take place on the October 17 event of Eagle FC. ‘The Eagle’ took to Instagram to announce that former Bellator champion Alexander Shlemenko has joined EFC and will face Artur Guseinov at the event.

Nurmagomedov wrote, “And here is the promised signing from Eagle FC. I think it’s one of the most interesting duels of the passing year! October 17 in Sochi, on the Red Polyana.”

“The day after the battle of Mineev-Ismailov. Two of the brightest drummers of our country will be released in the cage, in which a whole generation has grown up. Alexander Shlemenko vs Artur Guseinov.”

‘The Eagle’ had often talked about his desire to sign Shlemenko. Finally, Nurmagomedov signed ‘Storm’ by making him an offer that was too good to refuse. Recently Shlemenko talked about what Nurmagomedov said to him that made him say yes to the fight.

He said, “Sergey wrote to me from Khabib. That’s how we started to make some progress. On Tuesday, they sent me an offer right away, and I was happy with it. Today we had a final call with Khabib. We discussed the date and the opponent.”

“We are 100 percent sure about that. On Tuesday, we talked hypothetically. He made me an offer which I could not refuse because everything was professional and decent. Today they already called and said that Artur Guseinov is ready – October 17 in the city of Sochi.”
