Khabib Nurmagomedov is a force to reckon. ‘The Eagle’ made his debut with the promotion in 2012. Since then, he has worked his way up to becoming one of the most recognized and most dominant fighters ever in the UFC. Nurmagomedov is 28-0 and is aiming to make it 29-0 this weekend.

Since his debut in the UFC, Khabib has remained one of the most feared and dominant fighters. He has made the case to be considered among the greatest this sport has ever seen. Further, a win on Saturday will further cement his status as the best lightweight ever.

Khabib Nurmagomedov does not believe he is the most dominant fighter in UFC history

In a recent interview, Aaron Bronsteter asked Khabib if he believed he is the most dominant fighter ever in UFC history. ‘The Eagle’ replied saying, “I don’t know about history, but last couple of years I’m the most dominant fighter in UFC history. 2017, 18, 19 and 20, I believe I’m the most dominant fighter in UFC. This age always going to stay on my name. This is what I believe.”

In the aforementioned period, ‘The Eagle’ has fought five times. He has fought the very best in the UFC in this period, including the likes of Michael Johnson, Dustin Poirier, and Conor McGregor. The Dagestani fighter has not only won a belt, but has also defended it twice.

The manner in which he defeated world-class fighters such as the ones mentioned above, put him in a realm of his own. When Khabib states that he has been the most dominant fighter in the last few years, it’s hard to deny it. No one else comes close in terms of the sheer domination displayed by the champion.

Although, this is something that not everyone might agree with. Even then, a true fan of the sport cannot mention the lightweight division without mentioning Khabib Nurmagomedov. If ‘The Eagle’ continues to dominate his opponents like he has, he makes an excellent case in contention for the best fighter to have ever graced the UFC octagon.

Justin Gaethje, however, will not be an easy hurdle to overcome, something ‘The Eagle’ has to do to achieve the coveted ‘GOAT’ status.
