“Just keep b–t-scooting bro. No one is worried about you. If he wants to do something, step up.” As the heat between Craig Jones and Belal Muhammad continued to rise, the welterweight champion sent a special message to the BJJ legend at the UFC 315 pre-fight press conference. But little did he know that the step-up would be this hilarious. Well, the duo had already dragged Khabib Nurmagomedov into their beef when Muhammad claimed that he would attack Jones just like ‘The Eagle’ did when he jumped the fence to drop fabled justice on Dillon Danis following his fight at UFC 229. But now, the BJJ world champion has made a new move!

Jones took to Instagram and shared a cutout of himself and Nurmagomedov, pasted on a picture of Belal Muhammad. ‘Remember The Name’s’ picture was indeed from UFC Fight Night 187, where the reigning champion got his eye poked by Leon Edwards just 18 seconds into the bout and in a pretty bad way. But the post wasn’t just a collage of images. It contained a message from the former undefeated Dagestani lightweight champion. But it’s worth noting that the voice message seemed like something made with the use of artificial intelligence.

The BJJ champion didn’t just highlight Nurmagomedov’s AI-generated voice, but he also attacked the friendship that the Dagestanis share with Muhammad. Yes, this was in response to Bully B’s close and brotherly association with Team Khabib, which has kept him from clashing against Islam Makhachev if and when the lightweight champion moves up to the welterweight division.

In the voice message, Nurmagomedov seemed to say, “Craig, I am so sorry about this guy, brother. He talk very stupid. He sneaky. This guy come to gym with one eye and then never leave, brother. Why not go home? He’s crazy. He no want to fight with Islam. So, pretend to be our friend. Weird guy. Every day Dana cry. It make his heart hurt, brother. Poor UFC, brother. It make his heart hurt, brother. Okay, I go. Good luck.” And all Jones had to say about it was, “What a crazy voice note.”

Nevertheless, Nurmagomedov has never really talked badly about the welterweight champion. According to him, the Palestinian had exceptional endurance and cardiovascular strength, probably the best in the promotion. He even claimed that this was indeed one of Muhammad’s most underrated aspects of MMA.” But as the anticipation about Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena grows louder, the fans continued to wonder about the unrest between Jones and the welterweight king. But did you know that Dana White had a major role to play in the game? Well, at least if you believe the BJJ legend!

Craig Jones weighs in on Dana White’s role in his beef with Belal Muhammad

During a conversation with The MacLife, the BJJ ace finally talked about the reason why he and Muhammad engaged in an online battle. He confirmed that there was no personal vendetta. And as a matter of fact, he actually liked ‘Remember The Name.’ However, when the main event for UFC 315 was put together, Jones received a call from the UFC head honcho.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Craig Jones' AI prank on Belal Muhammad a masterstroke or just crossing the line?

Have an interesting take?

He said, “But Dana White called me up and he said, ‘Listen, Craig, the UFC is in dire stress.’ As we know. You tell me that on a daily basis. And he said, ‘The fate of the UFC’s profitability, arguably even TKO as a whole, lays into this fight we’ve got coming up on Saturday night.’ He basically, Dana was begging me.”

Although many claim that Muhammad is underrated, many others believe that he is a boring fighter. And that put a shine on his record. Out of the 24 fights he has won in his MMA career, 18 have come from decisions. But fight fans desire something else. They want finishes. This is why White reportedly (and hilariously) asked Jones to save them.

He continued, “And basically, yeah, Dana White begging me. He’s saying, ‘Craig, you need to get out there. Give Jack everything you can to save us from Belal Muhammad.” Apparently, if Muhammad loses the bout against Della Maddalena, he’ll be out of the UFC. And according to Jones, this was written in the contract. Pretty hard to believe, and probably a humorous mind game on the part of the Aussie!

On the other hand, Muhammad took it all sportingly. During the media day, he said, “Yeah, he’s talking, right? He’s a character.” But it was also true that Muhammad liked to engage in trash talk and build-up to the fight. And with Della Maddalena being a quiet guy, Jones seemed like the perfect balance in the chaos. Needless to say, it did seem like the BJJ ace helped a lot in promoting the fight.

But what are your thoughts on Jones bringing Nurmagomedov into the picture? Do you think Muhammad and Jones will ever get to fight it out? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
